# Generic Device

The SyncPro Generic device module for Crestron systems, allows integrators to easily connect a generic device with offline/online and power status. 

‌For devices that support [auto-update](/syncpro-modules/syncpros-crestron-modules/manifest-files.md), the **AutoUpdate\_ManifestUrl$** and **AutoUpdate\_CheckNow** signal can be connected to the AutoUpdate device extender of the device. This will allow for devices to download firmware and project files from the cloud service.

Sending [common telemetry](/integrators-api/common-telemetry.md) messages is also supported using the **Device\_Telemetry$** input.
